Kitchen Garden
In 2004, Mati Bangladesh received a United Nations award for empowering women and strengthening their income through the Kitchen Garden program. Since then, demand for vegetables in rural Bangladesh has grown steadily, and Mati has continued to expand its work with women in agriculture. The organization focuses on helping women cultivate small plots of land around their homes — in the space beside a hut, or even on its roof — turning unused ground into a source of food and income.
